The 3i Sport sedan features 16-inch wheels, full power accessories, cruise control, air-conditioning, a height-adjustable driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a trip computer, a folding rear seat and a four-speaker sound system with AM/FM/CD Player radio, Bluetooth, USB/iPod integration and an auxiliary audio input.
The 2014 Mazda 3i models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. It is front-wheel drive with an optional six-speed automatic. In Edmunds testing of a 2014 Mazda 3i sedan with the automatic transmission, we recorded an 8.3-second 0-60-mph time, which is quicker than average for this class of car. EPA-estimated fuel economy is also excellent; the sedan checks in at 34 mpg combined (30 mpg city/41 mpg highway).
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2014 Mazda3 a Top Safety Pick+ with scores of Good, the highest possible, in all crash test categories. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Mazda3 an overall rating of five out of five stars, with perfect ratings in all but the rollover crash test, for which it earned four stars.
